About Us
Point of No Return Improv is a PG-13 medium-form improv comedy group. We provide an interactive comedy experience. We spontaneously create scenes based on audience suggestions. Brave volunteers may even find themselves on stage being serenaded or used as props by the cast.
PNR Improv is part theatre, part comedy, and wholly fun.
Point of No Return has been featured at Big-Little Comedy Fest, First Night Akron, and Oberlin College Improv Conference. 2017 Best Live Comedy Finalist on Akron-Canton Hotlist.

FAQs
"What is improv?"
PNR performs medium-form improvisational comedy. We ask for a suggestion from the audience and then create a scene that is inspired by that suggestion. In short-form improv, those scenes often have rules that make doing the scene more challenging -- perhaps the actors are limited to a certain number of words, or one actor has to guess who the other characters are, or the scene must be played as if it came from a movie belonging to a specific genre. In long-form improv, there is often a series of interconnected scenes inspired by a single suggestion. We combine the two, creating medium-form improv.
"Can i hire you?"
Yes! We'd be delighted to entertain at your event, to perform for your fundraiser, or to put together a workshop to teach you the principles of improvisation. Please contact us
"How long have you guys been around? And what does 'Point of No Return' mean?"
PNR began as an offshoot of ANTIC Theatre in 2002.
The "point of no return" is the place on a river where you have to bank your canoe, or you will go over the waterfall. The troupe’s home is Cuyahoga Falls, and there is a "point of no return" on the Cuyahoga River near where we perform. From a philosophical standpoint, the "point of no return" is the place where a person is faced with a moral decision or dilemma that once a choice has been made, things will never be the same.
In improv, there is a point in each scene where you have gotten as engaging as you are ever going to get, so you ought to just stop there while the audience is still enjoying it. This could also be considered a "point of no return." So, whether it's fear of falling over the waterfall, or falling on our faces, we like to live right on the point of no return.

"how can i get updates on your upcoming shows?"
'Like' us on Facebook for up-to-date information on our upcoming shows, including cancellations, changes to our schedule, and other events.
"Are you wheelchair accessible?"
"Can I bring my kids?"
Our content is "PG-13," suitable for teens and adults. We keep it pretty clean (and yes, we still manage to be funny), but we don't have any control over what an audience member might decide to shout out.
"Do I need reservations? Where can i buy tickets?"
No reservations needed! Seating is general admission.
"Do you sell concessions?
Jilly's has food and beverages available for purchase.
"Can I join PNR?
We hold open auditions about every 2 years. Membership is open to anyone ages 14 and up. Improv experience is not required, but it is a plus. Members must be able to commit to weekly rehearsals.
